Let's Go For A Walk

lol Tasha always took her leash in her mouth. Here she was playing. I always remember my dad telling us the story of when he first brought her home and he took her outside to do her business. The silly puppy picked her leash up in her mouth and trotted back into the house all proud like she was walking herself in. How I miss my beautiful dog.

I woke up late one morning to be told she had been put to sleep. To this day I am furious at my parents for not waking me and full of remorse and guilt that I never got to say goodbye. The day before I had been teasing her, just playing. Had I known she would be gone the next day I would have been nicer. I know she loved me more than anything. She looked out for me like my second mother. But I cry to think about how she left me without one final farewell.

Because of this, I held my cat tightly in my arms before he was put to sleep. I will never let anyone, human or animal, slip away from me again without saying goodbye.
