Do you have the 60s film "The Little Shop of Horrors" or the 1986 musical comedy "Little Shop of Horrors". If it is the musical comedy, please tell me where and how you found the film with the alternate ending, because I do enjoy the Broadway version where Twoey wins much better than the film. The musical comedy of the film originally allowed Audrey II to win and take over the world. However, it was shown to test audiences who did not appreciate the death of the main characters, and so the ending was changed to have Seymour kill Audrey II and live happily ever after with Audrey. The alternate ending still exists and can be seen on Youtube, but only in black and white. The color version exists but I believe only the director has a copy of it and refuses to release it.
I Got the alternate ending by buying a blu ray Director's cut, the version on the director's cut comes with a fully restored alternate ending, in full color too. and yes, it has everything, and is just as long as the youtube version, including when it says "The End?!?" on the screen and Audrey II comes out of the screen and eats the camera, just only in this one, the "The End?!?" appears ontop of the scene with Audrey IIs ontop of the statue of liberty, but another difference is that the song is fully restored, and the sound effects are restored too, but also other music tracks and sound effects missing from the scene before the final number are restored too
In my school's production of the musical, the guy who voiced Twoie (backstage, of course) wore a white shirt that said "Mean Green Mutha" on it. It was hilarious when he came on stage, considering the curtain call music was "Jungle Boogie," and he had to break dance.
Unfortunately, it's the same way with books -- they'll never be quite as good as the original.
Sad but true. But even movies will sometimes have a separate charm all its own. IE The Wizard of OZ. Who doesn't love that movie? But it was SO inaccurate from the book! Yet, both the book and the movie have it's own special charm and appeal, separate but equal.
I'd like to see a remake of LSoH with the original ending. Or a DVD release with the original ending from the original movie. I heard that Geffen has the original ending in full color and has it locked away and refuses to release it. The jerk.
